The message to the MP:
A Message from the Rose Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Girls
From photos of sexually assaulted teenage girls to disappearances of Aboriginal women, violence against women is a constant of life in Canada. Despite an annual financial cost of $334 per person - over $7 billion total - federal investments in domestic and sexual violence are currently less than $3 per person. Canada needs a National Action Plan on Violence Against Women with consistency across jurisdictions and new investments, beginning with a National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. A National Inquiry can initiate the broad public conversation needed to change deep-seated attitudes.
With 100,000 women and children entering shelters each year, it’s time for urgent action. As my MP, I’m asking you to support the call for a National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and the development of a National Action Plan on Violence Against Women.
Please let me know what action you're taking!
